How did you come into contact with AC?

I never played any online game. I always felt, "WTH should I pay for a game then pay a monthly fee on top of that?" All I played was puter version ones(All the Ultima's Star Wars, Star Trek, Dungeon Siege, ect....) I always got my son to play too. Then one day while the wife and daughter were shopping, my son and I somehow ended up in a Wizards on the Coast store. While lookig around my son spots a Asheron's Call game on the bottom of a bargin shelf. It had appox 2' of dust on it. My son says "Dad, look...it is only $2 to buy. Then you get to play a month for free....Lets just try it? All we are out is the $2 at the end of the month." Well I agree..... We bring it home and it sits for a bit. Then one day while he is at school I load it up. I like what I see. Soon we load it on his puter. Then we start hanging together.

What was your first impression, what made you stay?

My son(Aiwendil - Playing as Aragorn' ) I hung out in Rithwic. Always hunted drudges and such. We always ended up taking those special trips to the LS, then going back out to recover. We both were disappointed, cause we made little progress. While I was on my recovery, my son runs across a member of LD name of Jack Able. My son and I were a whopping level 10 or 11 at the time. We had been playing for weeks.... Anyway, for some reason Jack see's Aiwendil is in need. I was so impressed that a guy who was level 102 at the time was even speaking to us...From there Jack took both of us under his wing. Had we not met Jack, our playing days of AC probably wouldve ended.

Who did you hunt, quest or hang out with?

Jack & Aiwendil and I spent hours upon hours after that fateful day. Jack never asked for allgiance. He never asked for anything...but he gave and gave and gave. Eventually, Aiwendil and I ask Jack to be our patron. From there he led us to re-rolling and changing the way our char's were put together. Boy, we were having a ball.

Funny story..shortly after swearing to Jack he has us do the mansion recal command. Nothing happens. Aiwendil and I kept trying over and over. Nothing. Jack is puzzeled. He then says, o well let me take you to ML. So we head from Rithwic LS to ML Portal. I'm thinking to myself, that portal is broken. Aiwendil and I never could go through it, before we met Jack. So, I start to type to him "HEY that portal is busted..." when I see him disappear. It was then he says..."Hey, do you have the expansion pack called "Dark Majesty"? From there, he figures out why we can't go to the mansion, nor many of the portals for DM. That day we ordered 2 copies of DM from Amazon.

During the times Jack wasn't online, we explored. One day when I'm a mighty level 19 I run across a body of Storm Goddess. I ask if she needs help..she says yes. So we go and slaughter many Olthoi(Gardeners...lol..)together and recover her bod. She is around level 17 at the time. From there we hunted together night and day. She met Jack and loved the quests he took us on. Soon Storm swore to me and I became a patron. I made sure I lived up to Jack Able's code of being a patron. Storm went through 100's of re-rolls(actually 3 I believe) and we explored and hunted and leveled together.

I also hunted with Mushashi Kenshin. We met when we both were level 20. We killed many a tuskers...We also competed in leveling. He beat me to 50. But I had some great times with the "SANDBAGGER". Even when I convinced him the mages ROCKED, much more then a BOW GUY. He converted eventually around level 80 I believe. He loved being a mage. I just nodded my head.

Did you PK, how did it go, what did you think of it, any particular story you remember?

One day Jack, Aiwendil and I go red. I'm level 52, Aiwendil is level 51 and Jack level 125 or so. We head to the mansion. The fight is on. I kill Jack someohow. I'm in dis-belief, but then target my son and kill him instantly. I declare myself KING. Jack's response was "I forgot how to slide, but died instead." I never went red again. Went pink a ton, when that was added at a much later date. But being pink vs red is no comparision.

What were your goals?

Goals... "TO BEAT THE GAME" My first goal was to get to level 50. With the guidance of Jack I achieved that goal after several months of hard work. Jack didn't power level us. Once in awile he would for a incentive, but for the most part he made us earn our levels. After 50, the goal was 100 and then 126...But that is another story and those level were more from a chain.

What are you most proud of?

50 was my proudest moment. From there I felt I understood the game well.

Friends...

I met so many... From LD. Poohead(Allana) will always hold a special place for me. From all the CR's(hers I might add) and hunting in vod, to just chatting. Tusami and AOL(Archangel of Light) my pals to whom I always let them know I was more uber then them. SOL a vassal who will always be a PUTZ. Alibear and Ranger....And the most tireless, most giving person and xp producing vassal SNEEZE!!!(Ach Chew). Boy could he salvage. He gave my tinker(Curufinwe') more salvage fodder then I could ever dream. I blew soooo many things up, just for sneeze. MY QUEEN!(Neuslayer) who follows me around in games....To all the times of running bobo quests with those above and so many others. I loved every minute of being in a great guild of LD. I never was in any other guild but LD so I can't compare. But LD rocks!

Naka great thread...I'll always remember our times on the flag pole of the mansion, and doing a 360, and enjoying the sights of the highest point in the area.

AC was a big part of my gaming experience. I've sinced moved on(SWG), but I'll always remember my times in AC and developing a great relationship with my son. AC brought us closer together more then anything else.
