"A nice suprise" by Toshiro Hasa-Gawa March 20th, 2001
Hail all,
Well last night i took one of my frequent trips back to Lytel' to visit my old friend Den Ou to purchase some of his cheap mana stones. We talked long into the night and when the sun began to rise i took my 65 stones and bid him farewell. A glorious morning awaited me as i stepped out into the sunshine and began the slow process or charging all my artifacts back to full strenght. As i sat on the grass outside i heard a cheary voice hailing me as its owner ran up the bank."Hail Jamar" i called out as my long time vassal approached. We sat and talked a while until we were joined by another old friend Hideal, who upon seeing that i now lead my own merry band immediatly swore his allegiance to me. It was a strange morning normally i would not expect to see more than 1 or 2 old friends, we sat and chatted until i was suprised by another "Hail friend". swinging around i saw Ieuan ap Gryffydd approach, he was as suprised as i had been to see Hideal again. Doubly so as Hideal had once been his Patron. We quickly rearranged our vassal/patron setup to mimick the way it once was. Now the big suprise was sprung, Another voice assailed my ears. "Hail Toshiro, my long lost friend" out of the morning sunlight strode a battle scared figure i have not seen for over 1/2 a year. I could not believe what i was seeing as i jumped up to embrace this 'apparition'. I must confess now that tears stained my face as i introduced my first and longest serving vassal to all present, "meet Kipp Slaughter" i shouted in joy to my fellows. A look of awe crossed many of their faces as no doubt they recalled the tales i had told of our epic encounters when we were younger. At long last a legend from our past returns to Dereth to once more wreck havoc among our foes. I am sad to say that these visits by a hero of old will be infrequent but i beg you all to lend any assistance possible to this battle weary master bladesman.
TBC.
"Body recovery" by Toshiro Hasa-Gawa May 14th, 2001
Hail All,
Had some fun this week, started the week in the DoC great fun down there but not the riskiest of places as long as you are fairly carefull not to get swamped, looting is impressive in quantity and the quality is not too bad either. Spent some time back in lytel just recovering and letting the scars heal when i was offered a portal to the lightless catacombs by our old friend Mi Tes. Spent an hour in there with Jamar, Mi Tes, Mortigui and Eloise. I was not impressed, didnt feel threatened even once. Although i have heard the loot is good i failed to find any and struggled to cover my costs when i sold up. Then Corganog the Loyal offered a portal to the south dires Metos. Now this place is fun! spent many happy hours getting swamped by the granites and slicing the Lich Lord to ribbons. Eventually got brave enough to head on down to the Iron golems with Mi Tes. Greater Acid arrows drop them in 2 hits lol i was in my element and picked up a mote or 2 for good measure. Strange how we get over confident isn't it? decided that me and Mi tes could handle a rev or 2 at the bottom. MISTAKE 1, those boys hurt. The first couple fell over quite easily to fire, then they decided to party. 1 acid bolt from behind and i was staring at the inside of Haven. Oh well i thought Mi Tes and i could recover NP. Also as i had only dropped death items and my gloves i could prob not bother if it got to dangerous. Just as i recalled i saw the dreaded message "your fellow Mi Tes......." you can guess the rest. Well I got back down and it was clear some one had helped me out. As i bent to pick up my stuff... whumpf respawn not 1 or 2 which would have been ok but all bloody 5 of them. I ran. Shame im not as quick as them got out to the corridor and boom, hello LS. 10% vitea no armour and no weapon. 2 bodies and 5 revs
not to mention Mi Tes's bodies as well. This is where good friends and a good allegiance really help. I put out a call and was answered immediatly by Mortigui and Kipp Slaughter who temporarily came out of retirement to help. Still i was actually frightened as i ran the gauntlet of liches and golems to get to the bottom. I think those revs were waiting for us to arrive, as we rounded the last part of the corridor, whumpf got a bit tricky for a minute or 2 but i recovered so did Mi Tes so a big thank you to those who helped. Went back later without the vitea for some revenge and with jamar as back up. Got revenge on them and even ventured deeper until we found some Obsidian Golems at which point we turned tail and ran like a pair of big girls blouses lol.
Stay safe and happy hunting

"Will you please stay dead!" by Toshiro Hasa-Gawa May 30th, 2001
Hail All,
I hope this wasp reaches you all and doesn't sting too much.
What lovely spring weather we are enjoying at the moment, not that I am seeing much at the moment.
If there is one thing on this planet that I really hate it is the Dead that live, The Undead as some people like to call them. Boy have I found a whole nest of the little buggers to play with. Why do they like the hot desert sands so much? Does it clean the bones nicely? It certainly mummifies just about right. Now I have found this lovely little hole right in the middle of the desert called Metos. Superbly designed structure, lovely ancient architecture to look at, mind you if you don't look where you are going then splash instant acid bath. Only down side is the over abundance of Undead that seem to crawl from every nook and cranny. Just as soon as we clear one section they seem to reappear from nowhere. If that wasn't enough to keep us busy there seems to be some kind of Empyrean Golem generator somewhere. Granite, Obsidian and Iron's rush around trying to stop you getting to the bottom. Shame really that they never touch the blasted Undead. What is at the bottom? Haven't actually made it that far yet, myself and Jamar made one foray deep into the bowels of this overgrown mausoleum. They definitely liked acid those Empyreans, Long corridors with acid spitting traps abound down there and more walking dead. Once I get a large enough party together I think that we will go all the way to the end. I really want to know whose tomb this is (note to self: Mort', Eloise, Jamar, Corgonag, Sullen and anyone else I can rope in should be a good team anyone is welcome as long as you can take at least one level 5 war spell on the chin and still be standing). We will find the bottom, so I have not had much sun to tan my poor white body. Talking of poor, have you noticed that no matter how long you have been around that you never seem to have enough money? When I first arrived here I could survive on 1000 p's a trip just enough to buy supplies and stuff. By the time I had been here for 20 yrs it was costing me 10 000 each trip. Now my last trip I made 68000 p's when I sold up my share of the loot, ##### me but didn't I spend the whole lot just buying arrow supplies for Verain to play with, Mana stones to feed my ever growing habit and some health potions and stamina potions for good measure. Jamar wants to go to the casino, where does he find the money? Not a bad idea that actually I considered making it an allegiance outing. get some of Eloise's sisters to bake some cakes, visit the pub for liquid refreshments then haul our asses down to one of these casinos for a little R'n'R. Anyone up for that? Mind you if the turn out is as good as the last allegiance meeting then me and Jamar will be going on our own. Well looks like the Lich Lord has managed to avoid permanent death again so I better put this quill down and go send him back to where ever he came from again.
Remember: Be Safe Out There
